A Pivotal Moment for Medicare Advocacy

This year’s gathering is happening at a pivotal moment. Monica’s presence at the table is more than symbolic. It’s a statement of advocacy, access, and accountability.

Over the past two years, several major insurance carriers have slashed commissions on Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. WellCare cut PDP commissions entirely in 2023 and ended renewal payments in 2024. Aetna followed with similar reductions, drastically impacting broker compensation across key markets. Now, in 2025, UnitedHealthcare is rolling out commission cuts on over 230 plans across more than 20 states.

Let’s be clear—these are not just business decisions. These are decisions that hurt people.

The Impact of Commission Cuts

Licensed agents are often the first and only trusted guide for seniors and individuals with disabilities trying to navigate the complexities of Medicare. These cuts reduce the ability of agents to provide personal, no-cost support. They disproportionately impact those in rural, underserved, and low-income communities. When commissions go down, education, service, and choice suffer.

That’s why Monica’s attendance at this CMS meeting is critical. With NABIP (*National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals)* raising these concerns directly to Congressional committees and CMS leadership, Monica is adding her voice—and the voice of MRW clients—to a national movement pushing for transparency, fairness, and protection of Medicare access.

Championing Healthcare Equity

Monica has long been a champion for healthcare equity and education. She was recently honored by the Ann Arbor Club of the *National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. for her leadership in business and community impact. In addition, MRW Solutions Group *proudly holds an A+ Accredited Rating from the Better Business Bureau, reflecting our unwavering dedication to ethical service, client trust, and professional excellence.

Empowering the Community

As part of this commitment to service and empowerment, Monica also leads EDUCATE Seminar Series and Events 501(c)(3)—our nonprofit arm dedicated to free community-based workshops on Medicare, financial literacy, fraud awareness, and technology for seniors and marginalized populations. These seminars are a lifeline for many, providing clear, accessible information that helps individuals make informed decisions and gain confidence in their coverage and care options.

A Mission Beyond the Conference

This trip to Washington is not just a conference—it’s a mission. Monica is representing every client who depends on Medicare to live with dignity, every agent fighting to serve ethically, and every community demanding better.

Stay connected. The fight for healthcare access is far from over—and we’re proud to lead the charge.
